FILMING IN WINTER IN LA MANGA

February kicked off with the filming of the short film "A Dead Shark", written and directed by Laura Plaza and starring Alejandra Lifante.

A winter on the beach.
The relationship between Ana and Miguel breaks down between meals and conversations: the closer she gets to the sea, the further away they are from each other.

In the words of its screenwriter and director, Laura Plaza A Dead Shark It's an intimate drama centered on the silent unraveling of a relationship. It portrays the difficulties of expressing unwanted or inappropriate feelings, of coping with loss. Throughout the short film, we accompany Ana and her fears and doubts; she must confront her anxieties and find strength to ultimately do what's best for herself and the relationship. The piece focuses on the small routines of life as a couple and shows two characters who find themselves at very different points in terms of what they want or need from each other. The conflict isn't on the surface, but if you step on the sand, you might feel what lies hidden beneath.

The filming of A Dead Shark The short film was shot in La Manga del Mar Menor during the second week of February 2023, with Curro Camacho as director of photography and starring actors Alejandra Lifante and José G. Ortuño. The short film is currently in the post-production phase. The release date and its entry into the festival circuit will be announced soon.
